Do I need Pi installed first?

No. Pendant includes its pinned Pi SDK and uses your existing Pi configuration, extensions, skills, prompts, themes, models, and custom agent directory automatically.

Does my code go through an extension service?

No. Pendant does not proxy your workspace through a hosted service. Pi runs locally inside Pendant, and model traffic is determined by your Pi and model-provider configuration.

Is dictation cloud based?

No. Dictation is fully local: it uses native Rust and Swift helpers with whisper.cpp to run local Whisper model files. Audio is never sent to a server.
